Abstract

In several recent experiments on nonlinear short-pulse propagation in optical fibers, the output pulse spectrum has been found to be asymmetric, see, e,g„ Ref. 1. This asymmetry seems to be an inherent property of propagation rather than due to asymmetric Input spectra.1,2
