10-kW universal CO-CO2 laser (or technology applications with cw and repetitive-pulse regimes

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Performance characteristics of a 10-kW universal electron-beam sustained-discharge CO-CO2 laser will be presented. Efficiency at 5.5 μm is 37% and at 10.6 μm is 15%. The active media operating temperature is between 90 and 130 K for 5.5 μm and 200 and 350 K for 10.6 μm. Continuous wave and repetitive-pulse regimes have been achieved Uses of the laser will be discussed.
