HgBr laser development

Abstract

HgBr lasers have recently been the subject of considerable research efforts primarily due to their potential utility in advanced blue-green communication systems. This paper summarizes the results of the HgBr development program at MSNW which has led to improvements in output energy, efficiency, and laser lifetime.
