Abstract

There is a growing interest in the development of compact sealed CO2 TEA lasers emitting high peak output powers and capable of operating at high pulse repetition frequencies for long periods without need of gas replenishment. Although there has been sealed operation of CO2TEA lasers, it has not hitherto been possible to achieve this with high concentrations of CO2 (needed to produce maximum peak power output per unit discharge volume) without use of heated catalysts.
