1-kW cw chemical oxygen-iodine laser

Abstract

Chemical oxygen-iodine lasers are a relatively new type of laser which produces a cw 1.315-μm laser beam. Chemically produced metastable singlet oxygen is used to dissociate molecular iodine and to transfer energy to the iodine atoms.
