Abstract

The present generation of narrow stripe width, double-heterojunction (AlGa)As diode lasers operates in a well-stabilized fundamental transverse mode.1,2 As a consequence, problems formerly encountered with power stabilization of the output beam using the rear facet beam for feedback have largely disappeared.3
