Abstract
In a recent paper1 a method was described for determining the extinction coefficient of oils and other highly absorbing liquids using a two-channel laser system. The method possesses numerous advantages over other standard photometric techniques: (a) only one relatively inexpensive reusable noncorrosive sample cell is required; (b) there is reduced mechanical filtering of the liquid sample; (c) no dilution of the sample is needed.
