Abstract
Laser line scanners used for imaging applications are predominantly required to generate repetitive collinear straight lines, having good pixel to pixel uniformity with no dropouts. High resolution systems also require flat-field linearized imaging. These requirements are achieved with deflector systems that employ a single-laser light source, such as galvanometer and rotating polygon mirror scanners. Polygon mirror deflectors are utilized in the majority of current laser printing systems since system bandwidths prohibit galvanometer use.
