FC2 Active pointing and tracking laser system: POLA

Abstract

The schematic diagram of the POLA system is shown in Fig. 1. A two-axis steering mirror is used to maximize the laser intensity on a small reflecting surface. The laser energy scattered back by the target is collected and analyzed to obtain angle error and to elaborate the servocommand of the mirror.
