Recognition of Finger Placement for Photoplethysmography Acquisition using a Simple Frequency Domain Method

Abstract

Time domain methods can recognize finger placement during photoplethysmography. They are, however, susceptible to motion and noise. This paper explores a frequency domain method with an area-under-the-curve of 0.95 to determine finger placement.
