A General Approach to Design, Optimize, and Analyze Modular Functional Near-infrared Brain Imaging Probes

Abstract

We developed a generalized workflow to automatically design modular fNIRS head-probes over user-specified regions with optimized channel counts, brain sensitivity, and sampling-rate metrics, allowing to compare full-head probes composed of vastly different elementary module designs.
