Abstract

In this study, we propose a dual-step imaging technique for the 2D wide field quantification of absolute absorption properties. The technique couples a non-contact modality of Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRSsr) to estimate local scattering properties, with staring Multi-Spectral Imaging to rapidly quantify 2D wide field absorption properties. To validate the approach, we have compared the relative absorption estimation errors when considering modelled, theoretical, or estimated scattering properties of well-characterized liquid Intralipid phantoms. Based on these phantom results, we have performed the first measurements on a biological tissue for which wide field optical properties are estimated.
