Microglial Responses to Blood Brain Barrier Disruption in Neuroinflammatory Disease

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Intravital spinal cord imaging in neuroinflammation identified early microglial responses around disrupted blood vessels. Coagulation activity is required for perivascular microglial activation and neuronal damage, and correlates with vascular disruption, lesion formation and disease severity.
