Monte Carlo modeling of Fluence Rate: theory and application of the convolution technique

Abstract

A three-dimensional Monte Carlo code was developed to determine the fluence rate by convolving the irradiance profile of a laser source with the Green’s function of the tissue sample Substantial reduction in computational time is reported.
