Abstract

Coumarin derivatives and molecular rods were used for the characterization of the membrane viscosity of large unilamellar vesicles (LUV) made of DOPC, DOPS or DMPC. Using fluorescence anisotropy measurements information about the rotational freedom of the dyes were obtained.
