Abstract

In this work we present a fiber-based polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT) system implemented with passive components. The proposed system features circularly-polarized light incident on the sample and a hybrid 50/50 fiber coupler – with single-mode fiber inputs and polarization maintaining (PM) fiber outputs – to combine reflections from the sample and reference arms. Images acquired ex-vivo from chicken breast are presented to verify the performance of the proposed system.
