Cancer diagnostics using fluorescence/reflectance spectroscopy with a fiber optic point probe and least-squares support vector machines

Abstract

A fiberoptic instrument based on fluorescence/reflectance spectroscopy for tumor diagnostics is shown. It is insensitive to ambient light, capable of quantifying fluorophores and optical properties of tissue and thus to precisely delineate tumors.
