Topical dual-stain fluorescence imaging for intra-operative margin detection enhances tumor-to-normal tissue contrast in excised fresh specimens

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel, topical dual-stain fluorescence imaging approach for identifying tumor tissue in excised specimens during surgery. Applying this approach to excised tumor tissue resulted in tumor-to-adipose contrast of 6:1.
