Abstract

We developed a high speed swept source OCT system with extended focus by employing Bessel beams. The system operates at 1300nm with up to 440kHz A-scan rate and a resolution of 6µm×12µm (lateral-depth). We demonstrate microvascular contrast imaging of different skin diseases including basal cell carcinoma. The lesions show characteristic vascular patterns that are significantly different for healthy skin. Analysis of those patterns might be a future direction for disease grading and diagnosis.
