An fMRI based Method for Characterizing Superficial Layer Contribution to fNIRS Signals

Abstract

This study aims at extracting scalp and gray matter fMRI data obtained during breathhold and mental arithmetic tasks to quantify the degree and pattern of systemic fluctuations that are hypothesized to contaminate the fNIRS signal.
