Ring-shaped confocal photoacoustic computed tomography for small-animal whole-body imaging

Abstract

We developed a new photoacoustic tomography system for small-animal whole-body imaging. With the novel design of ring-shaped light delivery and full-ring ultrasonic array detection, the system can generate a cross-sectional image in 1.6 seconds.
