Derivation and Validation of Metrics for Breast Cancer Diagnosis from Diffuse Optical Tomography Imaging Data

Abstract

Application of functional near infrared spectroscopic imaging to breast-cancer diagnosis is explored in a clinical pilot study. Examination of differences between image time series of the simultaneously examined breasts yields sensitivity and specificity > 95%.
