Phase Synchronization Approach to Cerebral Hemodynamics Assessment by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

Abstract

We show phase synchronization between oxy and deoxy-hemoglobin concentrations in the prefrontal cortex of a human subject at rest. This method has potential for studying cerebral connectivity and brain auto regulation in real time.
