Quantifying Mitochondrial Dynamics in Apoptotic Cells with Optical Gabor-Like Filtering

Abstract

We demonstrate a rapid throughput optical scatter method based on Gabor-like filtering to measure subcellular dynamics within single apoptotic cells. The technique is sensitive to a decrease in particle orientation consistent with apoptosis-induced mitochondrial fragmentation.
