Is image cytometry possible with deconvolved fluorescence images?

Abstract

Deconvolution methods enhance contrast in 3D fluorescence microscopy images by removing blur and restoring the out of focus light. Our research shows that relative fluorescence intensities are rarely preserved in deconvolved images.
