Novel Cooled Sliding Chamber Elucidates Origins of Action Potential Modulated Birefringence

Abstract

A specimen chamber for crustacean nerve experiments was newly designed to maintain physiological temperatures and allow observation along the length of the specimen. The resulting data elucidate the origins of action potential-induced changes in birefringence.
