In vivo photoacoustic imaging of tumor using gold nanoparticles as contrast agent

Abstract

In this study, we demonstrate that following intravenous administration of PEGylayted gold nanoparticles to tumor bearing mice, accumulation of gold nanoparticles in tumors can be effectively imaged with photoacoustic tomography.
