Imaging Cells with Second-Harmonic Generation Active Nanocrystals

Abstract

We developed second-harmonic generation (SHG) active nanocrystals as cell imaging probes. Highly specific labeling of the nanocrystals on the HeLa cell membrane proteins was achieved by covalently coupling antibodies onto the nanocrystals.
