Raman Spectroscopy: Potential for Detecting Tissue Coagulation During Laser Therapy

Abstract

Raman spectra of bovine muscle and albumen phantoms were acquired before and after laser heating. Results demonstrate that Raman spectroscopy is sensitive to changes occurring in tissues during heating, indicating potential for monitoring thermal therapies.
