Effects of compression on transillumination measurements of blood flow and chromophore concentrations in human breast tissue.

Abstract

We combine diffuse optical spectroscopic and correlation measurements of human breast tissue under compression. We expect a contrast between healthy (organized) and cancerous (chaotic) vascular response. Initial results suggest significant flow changes under compression.
