High-Speed Optical Recordings of Excitability Changes in Neuronal Tissue

Abstract

Using optical recordings of electrical activity, we have investigated whether stimulation patterns affects the excitability of neurohypophysial axons. We find that different stimulation pattern significantly alter axonal excitability which, in turn, underlies neurohypophysial hormone release.
