Assessing Sarcomere Structure Changes in Whole Muscle

Abstract

The biomechanical functions of striated muscles are maintained by the repeating sarcomere units. We conducted several experiments to demonstrate that optical scattering properties measured in whole muscles are correlated with the underneath sarcomere structure changes.
