Estimation of chest-wall induced diffusive wave distortion with the assistance of ultrasound

Abstract

A simple two-layer model is used to estimate diffusive wave distortion caused by chest wall underneath the breast tissue. Results have shown that absorption of the chest-wall layer has more influence on measurements obtained at distance source-detector pairs.
