Imaging skin histology through parametric mapping

Abstract

A novel computational approach to diagnostic imaging of the epithelial tissues is presented. Histologically meaningful parameteric maps are inferred from image colours using a physics-based model of skin colouration. The maps are shown to aid melanoma diagnosis.
