Second harmonic generation for molecular contrast in optical coherence tomography

Abstract

We discuss the relative advantages of dark versus bright field approaches for achieving molecular contrast with OCT, and introduce second harmonic detection as a promising novel example of dark-field, coherence-gated microstructural imaging.
