Abstract
Probe geometry has a major effect on the spectral information obtained by elastic light scattering spectroscopy (ESS). It could, therefore, enhance the sensitivity to detecting changes in scattering to the detriment of absorption properties or inversely. We have experimentally tested three probe designs in an ex-vivo preliminary study to determine the potential of using ESS to serve as a method for optically-guided biopsy in diagnosing prostate cancer.
