Abstract

Research in the use of lasers for the removal of hard dental tissue has extended over several different laser wavelengths with varying success. Excimer lasers have been one of the primary sources of UV laser radiation, however recent developments in nonlinear optics has allowed for the development of solid state UV lasers which can output non trivial amounts of UV radiation.
