Monochromatic ocular aberrations induced by photorefractive laser surgery

Abstract

Many patients complain glare, halos and disturbances of night vision after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). These optical effects probably result from changes in the cornea aberration structure induced by the laser procedure [2], [3]. We investigated the changes of monochromatic ocular aberrations after PRK and the relation of these optical errors to the loss of visual acuity under glare and night vision conditions.
