Abstract

The spontaneous Brillouin spectrum of an aluminosilicate fiber shows two distinct peaks. Strain and temperature coefficients of 0.0392±0.0027MHz/µε, 1.5±0.2MHz/°C for Peak 1 and 0.031±0.0025MHz/µε, 1.1±0.1MHz/°C for Peak 2 is obtained for exploitation in temperature-strain distinction.
