Abstract

Photonic generation of a continuously tunable chirped microwave waveform using a tilted-fiber-Bragg-grating written in an erbium/ytterbium co-doped fiber is proposed. A chirped waveform with a tunable chirp rate from 1.8 to 7 GHz/ns is generated.
