Transverse load tilted fiber Bragg grating sensor with variable sensitivity

Abstract

A transverse load sensor for small forces (<7N) is demonstrated with a tilted fiber Bragg grating compressed between soft materials. The sensitivity of the device is optimized for different force ranges by changing the material.
