Bragg gratings in Yb3+ - doped solid photonic bandgap fibre

Abstract

We demonstrate the inscription of Bragg gratings in a large-mode-area, ytterbium-doped photonic-bandgap fibre with 3 concentric germanium-doped cladding rings in the cladding. The gratings are inscribed in these doped rings that can support several modes.
