Abstract
Microfabrication of photonic devices by means of femtosecond (fs) laser pulses is reviewed. Adaptive modeling of fs laser pulse propagation was performed for detailed study of different regimes. Submicron structures are demonstrated in both infrared and UV ranges. Applications to fibre based devices and prototype integrated planar devices are discussed.
