Photo-thermal gratings in Er3+/Yb3+-doped core phosphate glass single mode fibers

Abstract

The thermal growth of high-quality Bragg fiber gratings with final reflectivities greater that 99.9% is studied for newly developed Er3+/Yb3+-doped core phosphate fibers previously irradiated with 193 nm excimer laser light through a phase mask.
