Fourier composition of complex index modulation profiles using a tuneable excimer laser for the inscription of fiber Bragg gratings

Abstract

Fiber gratings are inscribed with a Talbot-interferometer. Tuning of the UV-wavelength during inscription results in a writing technique for complex index modulation profiles that are a Fourier composition of sinusoidal index modulations with different periods.
