Long-period fiber gratings stable at very high temperatures

Abstract

The thermal stability of long-period fiber gratings written, using the electric arc technique, in standard Ge-doped fibers, and in the non-standard S-doped and N-doped fibers have been investigated. The fundamental mechanism for their formation is proposed.
