Refractive index changes in thermally poled fused silica

Abstract

Changes in the real part of the refractive index during electrothermal poling of fused silica were investigated using the Abelès-Hacskaylo technique. The results show that the index grows linearly with poling interval with a rate of 0.04% per minute.
