Abstract

For homogeneously poled isotropic media a ratio of 3:1 between χ(2)33 and χ(2)31 of the second-order optical nonlinear (SON) susceptibility tensor, has been suggested to exist in two limiting cases: (1) when the poling field is low and 2) when the SON is solely caused by an internal space-charge field and no dipoles are aligned to the poling field [1].
