Abstract

We use a chirped Moiré fiber grating (CMFG) to work as a dual-channel realtime Fourier transformer system, operating simultaneously and independently on two channels in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) scheme. The design of the grating is based on a time-domain equivalent to the spatial Fraunhofer diffraction. We use joint time-frequency signal representations to get a better understanding of the physical processes which determine the performance of the proposed system.
