Frequency tripling for next generation high energy lasers

Abstract

Societal applications of high energy lasers require operating at high repetition rate. Merits of frequency triplers at high-average power are discussed. Performances of LBO are demonstrated by generating 360 J of ultraviolet with 80% efficiency.
